Introduced by Microsoft at CRMUG 2016 and introduced on the 1st of November 2016, Dynamics 365 is said to be the next generation of intelligent business applications. The main change however is with regards to how Microsoft licenses and prices its products. Licensing is now structured around a user’s workload and function instead of the product itself. The reason for the change has been the newly introduced common data model which allows for easier integration between the various products that Microsoft offers such as Office 365, Dynamics CRM and Dynamics AX. With the common data model, users are for example able to pull data from these platforms and view it in one report.
